The term 'mother'! It’s not just an epithet, but a reminder of the most important role in this world. Mother’s Day nears friends. We're telling you this because, hey, Mom's Day seems to be just right around the corner — and we are hoping that by now, you have a plan to show her how much you appreciate her.
A telephone call telling her how much you treasure her would be okay. We're very sure she'd appreciate that but why not go the extra mile for the first woman in your life? Also skip the cards and the flowers and some other kind of gifts. Let your action be louder than any words! After all, it can be tough to find the perfect gift.
Your mom, your wife, aunt, mother-in-law, or just a mommy friend — there's no excuse for not showing extra love. Mother's Day (or any day at all, c'mon!).
If you haven't figured out what to do yet, and you feel like you're running out of time… We're here for you. We're here to get those itsy bitsy jitters out. And just like what we always say, "We're rooting for ya!". So…
Let us now provide you ideas that we think, will forever be etched in her memories. Not saying that it's that great, but again, gestures of appreciation can go a long way and will be remembered a for a long time!
1. If the weather permits, take her out to your local park along with the whole family. Take a stroll with her. Have a picnic and exchange stories under the shade of a beautiful tree. An outdoor activity is an adventure on its own. Take your dog if you have one and let her play catch with it. Do something like what she did to you when your were kids – going out of a busy schedule just to share some sun and sweat with her little ones. Remember that much has been owed and it's the perfect day to repay them those fun, fun times they spent with you. or…
2. A nostalgia trip! Give her a trip down memory lane. All you need is a couch and a family photo album (or her pre-mom photo albums). Reminisce not just your childhood but hers as well. Ask her more about her pre-mother life. A listener to her then adventures is sometimes what is needed to build better communications and relationships. Glorify the past. Make her reconnect with hers. Let her relive it through her stories. We're pretty sure her stories will revitalize her.
3. Book a day out. Take her to a salon and get a stress relieving massage with her. If you want to make it more special, you can do it at home. A good 24 hours is more than enough to research on aromatherapy and basic massages. Then ask her about those times she did that to you when you were still a child… when you caught that dreaded common cold that only a mother's touch can cure. *sniff, sniff* (teary)
4. Be her personal chef! Get busy in the kitchen and spoil her with healthy and hearty recipes. Time to take out those silvers and fine china! Then after that, you may also do dumber two. But only after you're done with all the chores and housework. Yes, let her have her day of relaxation. Do all her chores — from the garden to dusting the interiors to cooking and then to cleaning those dishes. Sit her down and put love on her feet. Serve tea and again, tell her how much she means to you.
As for being her chef…
Avoid, as much as possible, food and drinks that are high in calories, sugar, salt, fat, and alcohol. She doesn’t need that. We know. Maintain a long relationship with her by keeping her healthy.
