A Need to Know - to Have A Healthy Valentine's Day

Give your loved ones the gift of good health & a really joyful heart this Valentine's Day! Include these activities, recipes and our Herbalife Holiday Diet into your routine so you and your loved ones can enjoy a healthy Valentine’s Day together without compromising your well-being.

** Make sure you read until the end. We are sharing our Herbalife Holiday Meal Plan to keep you slim this Valentine's Day **

Get Active

Skip the dinner and movie date and try doing something adventurous and new. Plan an outdoor date. Go on a nature trip with your loved one. Visit a local zoo or park and engage in a game of volleyball then end it with a healthy picnic.

Indoor activities such as ice-skating, a cooking class (cooking is a great calorie burner) and indoor rock climbing will get your bodies moving, blood flowing, hearts pumping and your waist size decreasing.

There’s nothing more romantic than going somewhere different this Valentine’s Day with your loved one. Prepare everything in advance to ensure a happy trip, from your itinerary down to your first-aid kit. A relaxing getaway helps stabilize one’s blood pressure, leaving you feeling happier and more relaxed.

Rather than planning an intimate dinner, why not make Valentine’s day a day for lending a hand? Ask your partner, family and friends to volunteer your time together by visiting hospitals, homeless shelters, nursing homes, food kitchens and your local charity groups. Volunteering is one of the most unique Valentine gifts anyone can give. Plus, nothing beats seeing the joy you’re giving to those in need.

  • 1 pound boneless duck breast, skin removed
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 teaspoons extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 small shallot, finely chopped
  • 1 cup pomegranate juice
  • 1/4 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 2 teaspoons chopped fresh parsley, for garnish (optional)

  1. Preheat oven to 235°C.
  2. Sprinkle duck with salt. Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add the duck and cook until browned on both sides, 3 to 4 minutes per side. Transfer the duck to a small baking dish and roast until a thermometer inserted into the thickest part registers 65°C, 8 to 12 minutes for medium, depending on the size of the breast. Transfer to a cutting board; let rest 5 minutes.
  3. While the duck is roasting, return the pan to medium-high heat. Add shallot and cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, 30 seconds-1 minute. Add pomegranate juice and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to a simmer; cook until reduced by half, 1 to 2 minutes. Stir broth and cornstarch in a small bowl until the cornstarch dissolves. Add to the pan. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Reduce heat to a simmer and cook, stirring, until the sauce is thickened, 1-2 minutes. When the duck has finished resting, pour any collected juices into the sauce and stir to sign.
  4. Thinly slice the duck; serve topped with the pomegranate sauce. Garnish with parsley, if desired.
